Significance
of Vaikasi Visakam
Murugan's supremedivine tioincarnan, Vijaji Tamil monthly Vijaji (in the middle of May) took
place on a full moon day in Austin or Nakshatri Vishaka. The grandest star is a
mixture of three stars that are brightly illuminated in the sky. This is the
27th sixteenth star. This year has fallen on 28 May. Lord Murugan, Surapatma,
Darasurasura and Singamuku.
By their old slavery, they gave God the unexpected
sufferings. Lord Shiva came to the shrine to help God. Lord Shiva meditated and
six fumes emerging from his third eye, so he is called Skanda. Emitting fumes
were very unbearable, so they were taken to the sacred river grove by Agni and
Wui, where they were abandoned.
The six faces of Murugan
Then Parvati Devi embraced six children and took six places
and 12 hands. So he is called Shanmuga. Murugan's six faces stand: works,
protection, destruction, destruction, great
grace, the basic sources of wisdom.
Vaigasi Vishagam festival
On this day, Murugan destroyed the dark forces, maintained
the charity and provided high security and wisdom.
Many Murugan temples are holding a 10 day Brahmmotsavam
festival at Vaikasi Visa.
The devotees consider that they take the Kali (decorated
yoke) on their shoulders in the procession of the Murugan temple, making the Balak kutha (milk pots) for
Murugan.
Spiritual significance
Lord Murugan worships everyone, including the planet Mars,
especially kajo dasha or mangliiko tosho. He may also be inspired by six herbal
mantras: SA RA VA NA BA VA. Reminding the
mantra protects us from all evils and gives us the best benefit. Murugan
appeared on a Vaikasi visa, a young and very glorious one for a divine purpose.
